“I wanted to be a musician ever since I could remember. I loved the Beatles and I loved playing my guitar. The only issue was that I was painfully shy. When I was around 18 years old, I got the nerve to do some open mic nights, which was unbelievably hard for me, but I did it – and kept doing it.”

Around this time, Gigi started working as a Buyer at a heavily trafficked record store in Miami where she was able to learn more about how the record industry worked. Gigi started playing gigs all over Miami and Broward County. It wasn’t long until she got a booking at Tobacco Road, widely considered the oldest, and coolest, bar in all of Miami. The legendary hot spot played host to many musicians including John Lee Hooker, Sun Ra, Jimmy Buffet, and more.
