Andrew Gravel is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and musician who loves the outdoors and dogs. He is the founding member, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of The Gravel Project. The band features an impressive lineup: his brother and keyboardist Jordan Gravel, drummer Dave Fox, percussionist Eguie Castrillo, bassist Brad Barrett, and vocalist Jen Kearney. Each member is a dedicated musician - some even music educators - bringing a wealth of experience to the stage. But The Gravel Project is more than just a collection of talented musicians: their live performances connect deeply with audiences, capturing the energy of artists who give everything they have to the music.

A Brotherhood Forged in Music

For brothers Andrew and Jordan Gravel, music has always been a bond. From an early age, they played together - so much so that by the time Andrew was in high school, Jordan had already joined his band. Even when Jordan moved to South Carolina for college, earning a degree in jazz performance at the College of Charleston, their musical connection never wavered.

In 2010, eager to take things to the next level, Andrew started performing under the name The Gravel Project, writing songs and playing in the Boston area with a rotating cast of musicians. “Each show sounded completely different depending on who was playing with me,” he recalls. But without a steady lineup, the band lacked the cohesion he envisioned. In 2014 Andrew released The Gravel Project, featuring a diverse cast of musicians he had been performing with live. Yet still something was missing. It wasn’t until 2016 when Jordan moved back to Boston that everything fell into place. “After spending a decade in South Carolina, my brother made the move, and it was understood that he would be part of the band,” says Andrew. Around the same time, drummer Dave Fox joined, solidifying the trio as the band’s core.

Their first album as a band, Wishful Thinking (2017), was a defining moment. It was followed by Many Miles Ahead (2022) and Live at Wellspring Studios (2023). Now, with their latest release, Find What You Need, The Gravel Project has created what feels like their most authentic album yet.
